FEE GONZALES X GIGGS - COULD HAVE WENT LEFT [66%]

Fee Gonzales Teams Up with Giggs for a Gritty UK Spin on Trap.

Fee Gonzales is back, this time linking up with UK rap legend Giggs to deliver the hard-hitting, full-bodied track Could've Went Left.

Fresh off his new album 'CHROME HEARTS', the track incorporates a bass-heavy instrumental with distorted synths, reminiscent of the US trap rage scene made popular by the likes of Playboy Carti and Travis Scott. While somewhat uninspired, the instrumental stays true to the core elements of the Trap genre and enables the artists to take centre stage. Atop this instrumental, Fee and Giggs provide laid-back, effortless yet confident flows, culminating in a smooth vibe that offers a unique UK spin on a sound predominantly adopted by US artists.

The accompanying music video, shot in West London and directed by Sped2, depicts the duo alongside a white Mercedes G-Wagon rocking all-black outfits. This colour contrast makes for a visually impactful shot, and the general prominence of grayscale colours throughout the video (it is filmed entirely at night) neatly compliments the grungy atmosphere of the song. Despite this, the lack of other colours does cause the video to feel somewhat monotonous as it develops, an issue not helped by the lack of any noteworthy locations.

With 50,000 views in under a month, the video has clearly resonated with Fee's audience, quickly becoming the third most popular on his YouTube channel—only behind Taking Risks with JME and 50K Bookings with Lancey Foux. On Spotify, it’s similarly successful, currently the second-most streamed song from CHROME HEARTS.

A frequent collaborator with DUB 5 and NYDUS (having performed at NYDUS: LIVE NYE 2023), Fee's commitment to frequent releases and consistency has led to a remarkable development in his sound. The fruits of his labour were most clearly displayed at his '2GR8 2H8' mixtape launch party, a greatly successful event which Giggs himself attended.

This is by no means the ceiling for Fee, though, as he is continually elevating his sound and exploring sonically. His social media presence is growing, supported by a dedicated fanbase with high engagement. Fee Gonzales’s future looks bright as he continues to solidify his status as one to watch in the London music scene and beyond.
