Pete & Bas Choose DUB 5’s Studio A for “Slap the Stick” Music Video
British rap duo Pete & Bas have brought their signature flair to DUB 5’s Studio A, using the space to film the video for their latest single, Slap the Stick, taken from their debut album Mugshot. The video, directed by Birdbush, dropped alongside Kendrick Lamar’s new album GNX and has already racked up over 124,000 views in just 24 hours.
Studio A, renowned for its luxury penthouse vibe, was chosen for its sprawling size—much larger than the average studio—and its unparalleled amenities. The studio boasts and impressive collection of vintage instruments and analog hardware, making it a creative paradise for artists and directors alike.
Pete & Bas were particularly taken with the exclusive balcony offering panoramic views of the Shard and East Central London, the heart of the city’s financial district. In between takes, the duo could be seen unwinding in the studio’s gaming area, battling each other at FIFA on the PlayStation 5.
The video features a cameo from Maleek Jamaal, a previous DUB 5: LIVE performer, adding to the excitement surrounding the release.
NYDUS, DUB 5’s director, commented, “It was a pleasure to host Pete & Bas and the rest of the team. We look forward to potentially working with them again soon.”
DUB 5 continues to cement its reputation as a premier creative hub in Central London.
