Official OT's "84th STREET." Authentic Fusion of London Vibes and New York Spirit

Official OT, the 18-year-old sensation hailing from South West London, has made a mark in the rap scene with his latest track, "84th Street". Boasting over 27,000 monthly Spotify listeners, Official OT effortlessly blends elements of authentic New York rap style with his unique British cadence, creating a captivating musical experience.

For OT’s first ever music video, being shot against the backdrop of London, offers a refreshing take on the New York rap aesthetic. Directed by Myles Green, the video captures the essence of the track, featuring captivating b-roll shots on Brick Lane and creative camera angles. Despite its low-budget nature, the video stands out for its authenticity and creative direction.

Produced by Elias X and recorded and mixed by NYDUS at DUB 5's Studio A in central London, "84th Street" delivers a polished mix, allowing Official OT's raw talent to shine through. While his enunciation could benefit from refinement, it contributes to the track's underground street rap vibe, enhancing its authenticity.

In an insightful interview with DUB 5, Official OT revealed his artistic journey and future aspirations. He expressed gratitude for the collaborative environment at Studio A, highlighting the inspiration he drew from working alongside experienced professionals. "The space and atmosphere that DUB 5 creates is really helpful for up-and-coming artists like myself," he shared. OT specifically praised NYDUS for his guidance and mentorship, emphasising the impact of having a seasoned professional supporting his creative process - “I also think having an engineer like NYDUS working with you in the studio gives me more motivation as I need to perform at my best because I am working with the best!”

When discussing the current state of the South West London music scene, Official OT expressed his views candidly. He noted a pervasive sameness in the sound, dominated by drill music and type-beats reminiscent of artists like Knucks. He believed that the scene needed a revitalising infusion of fresh sounds and faces, confidently stating his intention to fill that void and bring a distinctive musical identity to the region.

OT finally hinted at his evolving sound, stating, "Fans should expect more New York beats in the future as I think this is the new wave for me and the scene”.

Official OT's "84th STREET" not only showcases his musical prowess but also establishes him as a versatile and promising artist. With its blend of authentic rap style, introspective lyrics, and innovative visuals, the track presents a compelling narrative, making it a standout addition to OT's burgeoning discography.
